The winter gives us so many opportunities to stay healthy. In Fit Girls, we learn how running and walking help us become more confident. In the winter months, the same confidence helps Fit Girls learn new activities. Whether skating on the Kineowatha rink, or cross country skiing on trails or at Titcomb, or snowshoeing with family and friends, learning a new winter activity invites challenges, develops friendships and can bring on a feeling of joy. The joy associated with doing something fun, while gaining a new skill, staying healthy and continuing to have positive self-worth.
I hope you will take advantage of all that the snow and winter months
have to offer. Remember to bundle up wearing weather appropriate clothing for cold outdoor activity and always hydrate. Fitness should be part of our lives all year long.
